NASA, Lockheed Martin developing silent supersonic jet

The X-59 is a quiet supersonic plane developed by NASA, featuring a wingspan of 29.5 feet, a length of 90.4 feet, and a weight of 32,300 pounds. It is powered by a General Electric F414 engine, the same used in FA18EF fighter jets. The aircraft's hull is designed to minimize noise from shockwaves, traditionally associated with supersonic travel, by separating these shockwaves to reduce the sonic boom reaching the ground.
