New York cemeteries are nearing capacity due to the surge in COVID-19 deaths. The Greenwood Cemetery, the largest in the city, is almost full. The number of burials and cremations has more than doubled, with some days seeing four to five times the usual number of cremations. To prevent virus spread, cemetery staff wear protective gear and limit interaction with families, who are allowed limited access to services. New York has over 200,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 11,000 deaths, making it the pandemic's epicenter in the U.S.
