They are mainly located in Africa, Asia, and North America, with tropical grasslands, or savannahs, experiencing distinct wet and dry seasons. Temperate grasslands, like the North American Prairie, have extreme temperature variations and less rainfall. The Prairie supports diverse wildlife, including bison, which were nearly extinct due to hunting and habitat loss but have since recovered.
