NASA dummies to fly around Moon to test anti-radiation vests

NASA plans to send astronaut dummies around the moon in the Orion spacecraft for the uncrewed Artemis 1 mission. The mission aims to test the Astro Rad, a new radiation protection vest for female astronauts. Two dummies, Zohar and Helga, will be equipped with radiation sensors; Zohar will wear the vest while Helga will not, to evaluate its effectiveness. The vest, made by Stem Rad, protects vital organs using variable thickness shielding. It allows astronauts to perform tasks during solar storms by reducing cancer and radiation exposure risks.
