Xu Xian attends a temple ceremony despite his wife Bai Su Zhen's warnings. Bai Su Zhen, a benevolent snake spirit, confronts the monk Fa Hai, who traps her in an alms bowl. Their son, Shi Lin, is the reincarnation of a wisdom god and eventually frees his mother, reuniting the family.
