A road near the Staples Center will be renamed Kobe Bryant Blvd. in honor of the late NBA star, who played for the Lakers for 20 years. Bryant, his daughter, and others died in a helicopter crash in January. The announcement coincides with Kobe Bryant Day on August 24, which combines his jersey numbers 8 and 24.
