Ashrita Furman attempted to set a new world record by balancing a 16.6-meter fiberglass pole on his chin for over 10 seconds, despite windy conditions. After two failed attempts, he succeeded in balancing the pole for 13.8 seconds, surpassing previous records in Japan. Safety was a major concern due to the risk of the heavy pole falling. The event was filmed by his entourage, and it marked Ashrita's 133rd world record since 1979.
