Arizona is a state rich in geographical and cultural diversity, with a population of over 7 million. It features the arid Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts, the Colorado Plateau, and the iconic Grand Canyon. Northern Arizona is home to unique rock formations and the Navajo and Hopi tribes. The Sonoran Desert, hotter and home to unique cacti, is a major source of copper and water, though water is scarce. The Tohono O'odham tribe resides here, and the Spanish established missions in the area in the 17th century.
