VOICED : Francia adopta una ley que abre la reproducción asistida a lesbianas y mujeres solteras

The French Parliament has passed a bioethics law allowing assisted reproduction for lesbian couples and single women, a move long advocated by LGBT groups. Previously, only heterosexual couples could access such treatments. The law, supported by 67% of the French public, will have social security cover fertility procedures for women under 43. It also allows children to know their donor's identity and permits egg freezing. However, surrogacy remains unaddressed and is still widely opposed in France.
