In Rangoon, Burmese police used rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse protests, detaining at least 20 people, including journalists. In Monigua, police and army forces confronted protesters. Protests have persisted since the military coup that ousted Aung San Suu Kyi on February 1st, with authorities increasingly using force, including live ammunition. An NGO reported 400 detentions on Saturday, adding to over 770 arrests since the coup, with 680 already imprisoned. Amidst the repression, the military junta dismissed its UN ambassador, who had called for an end to the coup.
