VOICED : Fiscalía española pide más de 8 años de cárcel por fraude fiscal para Shakira

The Barcelona Prosecutor's Office is seeking over eight years of imprisonment for Colombian singer Shakira, accusing her of evading 14.5 million euros in taxes between 2012 and 2014. Additionally, they demand a fine of nearly 24.5 million dollars. The charges were filed after Shakira, who maintains her innocence, refused a settlement with the Public Ministry and opted for a trial. The accusation claims Shakira resided in Spain since at least 2012, shortly after her relationship with footballer Gerard Piqué became public, but kept her fiscal residence in the Bahamas, a known tax haven, until 2015.
