VOICED : Abdulrazak Gurnah recibió el Nobel de Literatura en Londres

Abdul Razak Kurnah, a British writer born in Zanzibar, received the Nobel Prize in Literature. The award ceremony took place in the UK, where he has lived in exile for five decades. Due to COVID-19, the ceremony was held without the usual pomp. The Nobel jury honored Kurnah for his empathetic and uncompromising narratives on colonialism and the plight of refugees. His most famous work, 'Paradise', set in colonial East Africa during WWI, was a Booker Prize finalist. The Nobel Prize includes a monetary award of 10 million Swedish crowns, approximately 1.1 million dollars.
