Oak trees can live for over 1000 years, undergoing various stages from acorn to seedling, then maturing into majestic adults. They start as acorns, each containing a seed that germinates and grows into a seedling. Oaks typically begin producing acorns at around 50 years old and continue to mature over the next century. By 700 years, they reach old age, growing slowly and producing up to 10 million acorns in their lifetime. These acorns can give rise to new generations of oak trees.
