In Mexico City, hundreds of women marched to demand action from authorities to find their missing children. The protest coincided with Mother's Day, highlighting the plight of mothers whose children have disappeared. Many mothers expressed frustration at the lack of support from authorities. Migrant mothers, whose children vanished en route to the U.S., also participated. Official figures indicate around 30,000 people have disappeared since a military operation against drug cartels began in 2006.
