‘Boaty McBoatface’: RSS Sir David Attenborough sets sail for sea trials

The Attenborough, initially suggested to be named Boaty McBoatface by the public, is a state-of-the-art research vessel designed to study climate change in the Antarctic. It features advanced facilities, including diesel-electric propulsion to reduce environmental impact, and can break through thick ice. The ship is equipped with scientific instruments for oceanographic research and will travel with additional support vessels. Despite the public's choice, the name Boaty McBoatface was given to a long-range unmanned submarine instead.
