VOICED : Volcan Etna en intensa actividad

Mount Etna, located near Catania in Sicily, is experiencing significant volcanic activity this summer. A crack in one of its craters on July 25 has led to impressive displays of lava and ash. Etna, which originated from underwater eruptions 500,000 years ago, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a key research location. Standing at 3,300 meters, it is Europe's most active volcano with activity dating back 2,700 years. Recently, ash columns reached 4,000 meters without affecting nearby areas, and the closest airport remained operational.
