Venezuelan Olympic champions returned home after achieving the country's best performance in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with one gold and three silver medals. They were celebrated and honored by President Nicolás Maduro in Caracas. Julio Mayora, a silver medalist in weightlifting, visited his hometown, La Guaira, to show his medal. Yulima Rojas, who won gold and set a world record in triple jump, and Daniel Derz, a silver medalist in BMX freestyle, did not travel with the delegation due to other commitments.
