Five Russian swimmers, including one woman, swam across Lake Baikal in Siberia to raise awareness about its ecological issues. The swim, covering 55 kilometers, was done without professional gear, with each swimmer spending 10 to 30 minutes in the icy water. The event aimed to highlight the need to protect Baikal from pollution and other threats. Despite facing temperatures as low as -5 degrees Celsius, the swimmers completed the challenge in 17 hours, supported by a rescue boat.
