Italy, Venice - San Giacomo di Rialto church

San Giacomo di Rialto is a historic church in Venice, distinct from San Giacomo dell'Orio. It features a 15th-century clock and Gothic portico, with a Latin cross plan and Byzantine capitals. Tradition claims it as Venice's oldest church, consecrated in 421, though first documented in 1152. Rebuilt in 1071, it spurred the Rialto Market's growth, introducing the bill of exchange. Surviving a 1503 fire, it was restored in 1601 to counter Aqua Alta.
