Italy, Sicily - Selinunte- Temple B

Celenunte, a significant Greek colony in Sicily, was strategically located between rivers and near the sea. Founded by colonists from Megara Hyblea, it became a cultural hub interacting with Phoenicians and native Sicilians. The city featured an Acropolis with temples and a Hippodamian plan for housing. Despite conflicts with neighboring peoples, it thrived until its decline post-409 BC. Temple B, a Hellenistic structure, marks a modest revival before the city's final abandonment.
