Richard Branson Sets New World Record: Driving Across the English Channel in an Amphibious Sports Car

Richard Branson set a new record by crossing the English Channel in an amphibious sports car, the Aquada, in just over an hour and a half. The car, which can travel at high speeds on both land and water, features retractable wheels and a water jet for aquatic propulsion. The Aquada's design includes a bonded aluminum space frame and a composite body. Previous amphibious crossings were much slower, with the first recorded in the 1950s. The Aquada was developed to meet UK regulations for both land and water use.
