These airbags, linked to at least 16 deaths, have led to numerous lawsuits and significant financial burdens. A company representative issued a heartfelt apology to those affected. The airbags used ammonium nitrate without a desiccant, causing them to explode in extreme conditions. Takata's bankruptcy is one of the largest in Japan since WWII, leaving a debt exceeding eight billion euros.
