In Beacon Valley, Cape Town, unemployment, crime, and drug use are prevalent, making school attendance challenging for children. A group of mothers is working to change this by waking children up, providing breakfast, and repairing uniforms. Methamphetamine use has spread in the community, affecting not just users but the entire area. Despite these challenges, the mothers aim to give children the best chance at education. According to the World Economic Forum, 70% of South Africans aged 15-34 are unemployed, and in 2013, less than half of students were expected to complete their education. However, with the efforts of these mothers, these numbers may improve.
