Ivory Coast ex-rebels battle with civilian life

In the Ivory Coast, former rebels have been mobilizing for seven months, with 36,000 expected to disarm. A quarter will join the National Army, while others reintegrate into civilian life. Some ex-fighters prefer reintegration projects over negotiating for more money. However, only 700 have found project placements, leaving tens of thousands unemployed. The war is over, but rebuilding lives will take years.
