Gandolfini suffered a possible heart attack while in Italy with his son. He was alive when taken to the hospital but died shortly after. He leaves behind his wife and daughter. Gandolfini was known for his role as Tony Soprano in HBO's 'The Sopranos', which aired for six seasons. He was scheduled to attend the Taormina Film Fest in Sicily.
