Cheetahs are large cats found in Africa and parts of Asia, living in savannahs. They are the fastest land animals, reaching speeds of 70 mph, aided by sharp claws and long legs. Cheetahs have distinctive facial stripes and make unique sounds like chirping. They hunt during dawn and dusk, using their spots for camouflage. In the wild, they live up to seven years, but can reach 15 years in captivity. Cheetah cubs are born with closed eyes and develop quickly, starting to walk at four weeks. Other big cats include lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, and jaguars.
