Its recreational use grew due to its powerful hallucinogenic effects, which impact the prefrontal cortex and serotonin pathways, leading to uncontrolled visions. These hallucinations can be frightening and cause disorientation, resulting in dangerous behavior. LSD was even tested for biological warfare to incapacitate troops. Users often take risks without realizing the consequences, putting themselves in danger.
