VOICED: Sao Paulo's model favela

The City Union Favela project in São Paulo aims to transform the lives of 32,000 residents by improving infrastructure, including roads, housing, schools, and hospitals. The project covers a million square meters and addresses issues like flooding and crime. It replaces dirt paths and open sewers with solid housing and tarmac roads. 3,000 families were relocated, with some receiving new homes outside the favela and others moving into social housing. The project is a model for Brazil's urban redevelopment, with Itaquera favela next in line, set to host a new stadium for the 2014 World Cup.
