In the 19th century, Britain and Russia vied for control in Central Asia, with Russia planning to invade India during the Napoleonic Wars. The plan, known as the Indian March of Paul, was abandoned after Tsar Paul's assassination. Later, during the Russian Civil War, the Bolsheviks aimed to incite rebellions in India and Tibet, but these plans were shelved. Indian nationalists, seeking foreign aid to end British rule, allied with Germany during World War One, leading to the Hindu-German Conspiracy.
