The myth of Loki and the deadly mistletoe | Iseult Gillespie

Baldur, beloved in Asgard, is troubled by dreams of his death. His mother, Frigg, secures promises from all things not to harm him, except mistletoe. Loki, the trickster god, exploits this by tricking Baldur's blind brother into killing him with a mistletoe spear. Hermod, a warrior god, attempts to retrieve Baldur from Hel, but Loki thwarts him. Eventually, Loki is captured and punished by the gods.
