Tomás Borges, the last living founder of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, was honored by thousands of Nicaraguans at the Palacio Nacional. Borges played a crucial role in the fight against the Somoza dictatorship and left a legacy of independence and sovereignty. He served as the Minister of the Interior in the 1980s and was a key figure in the Sandinista Front, led by Daniel Ortega. Borges passed away at 81 due to a pulmonary illness after undergoing surgery.
