Lok Ta Moni Eysei, a powerful hermit, had three students: Moni Mekhala, Vorachhun, and Ream Eyso. He announced a contest to collect morning dew, with Moni Mekhala winning by using her shawl. Each student received a gift, but Ream Eyso grew jealous and sought Moni Mekhala's crystal ball. A battle ensued, creating rain. Moni Mekhala chose compassion over revenge, and Vorachhun was revived by the rain.
