The handover of a cemetery for Dutch soldiers who lost their lives in Austria during the Second World War

In Salzburg, a ceremony was held to officially transfer a cemetery serving as the final resting place for 89 Dutch individuals who died in Austria during World War II. The event took place at a monument created by Van Kralingen and was initiated by Van Anrooy de Kempenaar. The Dutch ambassador and other dignitaries attended, and a wreath was laid by the Salzburg municipal government. Attendees visited the graves of their loved ones, and a memorial stone was unveiled for 36 other Dutch war victims buried in unknown locations in Austria. The event provided solace to many families, knowing their loved ones have a dignified resting place.
