Second American Dies From The Coronavirus In Washington State

Over the weekend, two men in King County, both with underlying health conditions, became the first US fatalities from the coronavirus. New cases were reported in Florida, Rhode Island, Oregon, and New York, raising the total diagnosed to at least 89. Vice President Mike Pence stated the virus poses a low risk to Americans, but the US is increasing testing capabilities. The FDA allows some labs to use their own tests, and the government has distributed over 15,000 CDC-developed testing kits, with plans to send 50,000 more. Each kit can test 700-800 samples.
