Queen Henrietta Maria

Henrietta Maria, daughter of French King Henry IV, was educated in various arts and religion. She married Prince Charles with a papal dispensation, marking a significant Catholic-Protestant union. Her marriage was seen as a political strategy against Spain. Henrietta believed in the divine right of kings and was thought to influence Charles's decisions. In 1642, she went to Holland to raise funds and support for the impending civil war, successfully sending resources to aid her husband's cause.
