British Schoolchildren Evacuees At An American School

During WWII, 23 English children were brought to America by the Marshall Field Committee to escape the London Blitz. Meanwhile, 320 evacuee children heading to Canada were rescued after their ship was torpedoed by a Nazi U-boat. All were saved and continued their journey. In America, the evacuees experienced recess and baseball, with plans to bring more children to safety if time allows.
