Australian Court Delays Ruling On Cardinal George Pell's Appeal

Cardinal George Pell was convicted of child sexual abuse and is serving a six-year sentence. He was found guilty of abusing two boys in the 1990s. After losing an appeal in 2019, Pell is seeking to overturn his conviction in the High Court of Australia. The court has yet to decide on allowing the appeal. If granted, the court will determine whether to acquit or uphold the conviction, or possibly send the case to a lower court. Pell, the Vatican's former treasurer, maintains his innocence and is the highest-ranking Catholic Church official convicted of such crimes.
