U.S. Expands Afghan Refugee Program Eligibility

The State Department is expanding the criteria for Afghan citizens eligible for refugee status in the US. This now includes current and former employees of US-based news organizations, aid and development agencies, and other relief groups funded by the US. Additionally, current and former employees of the US government are also covered under these new guidelines.
