Hurricane Oto struck Costa Rica and Nicaragua in late November, causing significant destruction. The hurricane resulted in 10 deaths and affected thousands, damaging homes, roads, and infrastructure. The Costa Rican government, led by President Luis Guillermo Solís, is focusing on reconstruction and transparency. Recovery efforts are underway in over 450 communities and on more than 2,700 roads and bridges. The storm left a trail of devastation, with crushed houses, fallen trees, and overflowing rivers.
