• Each of more than one hundred substances that cannot be chemically broken down into simpler substances.

• A group of atoms bonded together.

What are the three states of matter?

• solid, ice, and gas

What are observable properties of matter?

• Anything we can determine by using our 5 senses.

• Anything that has mass and occupies space
