Eureka Math: Rounding is a Grade 4 mathematics worksheet that builds accuracy with rounding whole numbers to the nearest thousand, ten thousand, and hundred thousand. Students complete 10 items—8 multiple-choice questions and 2 fill-in-the-blank questions—that require them to identify place values, choose the correct rounded value, and judge whether a rounding statement is true or false. The worksheet extends rounding beyond isolated calculations. Students round two numbers before finding their sum, identify the number of ten thousands in a six-digit number, find the midpoint between consecutive thousands, and compare two numbers with the same leading digits. These varied items help students connect place value, magnitude, and rounding decisions. This free printable worksheet is designed for Grade 4 math instruction, independent practice, review, or assessment and includes a complete answer key.

This Grade 4 worksheet focuses on rounding whole numbers to the nearest thousand, ten thousand, and hundred thousand. Its 8 multiple-choice and 2 fill-in-the-blank items also ask students to use rounding in a sum, identify ten-thousands in 83,975, evaluate a rounding statement, find a midpoint, and compare two six-digit numbers.
First model how the digit immediately to the right of the target place determines whether a number rounds up or stays at that place. Then have students explain their choices for items such as 3,695 rounded to the nearest thousand and 135,002 rounded to the nearest hundred thousand. Use the sum problem and midpoint question to discuss how rounded values represent the size and location of numbers, not just a memorized procedure.
Students may look at the wrong digit, such as using the thousands digit when rounding to the nearest ten thousand, or change the wrong place value after deciding to round up. Watch for answers that retain extra digits instead of replacing them with zeros, especially in the hundred-thousand items. In the two-number sum, students may add the original numbers rather than rounding each number first, and in the midpoint item they may confuse 35,500 with an endpoint.
The worksheet is available as a printable PDF and as a digital quiz on Wayground, so you can use the same 10-item rounding practice in either format. It includes a complete answer key for checking the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank responses. Printable submissions can be graded by scanning student work with the Wayground for Teachers app.
Use the worksheet’s Advanced Settings to adjust font spacing or increase the font size so the place-value numbers and answer choices are easier to read. You can also apply a dyslexia-friendly font to the rounding items or translate the directions and prompts into another language while keeping the numerical tasks intact.
