The United States government has to be strong, otherwise large quantities of small disputes will tear the States apart, limb by limb. According to History Alive TCI, “Look to events like Shays' Rebellion. If the central government is too weak, it cannot do its job of protecting liberty and property.”

The Virginia Plan made by Madison talked about creating a government with 3 branches and 2 house of Congress.

The southern states mentioned that slaves should be considered for representation so they can have more representatives in the House of Representative. 

The government's decision to give the option to pay showed weakness.

The Farmers were seldom acknowledged when the Articles of Confederation was enforced. According to History Alive TCI, “ Under the Articles of Confederation, the new nation had serious money problems….The money shortage was particularly hard on farmers who could not earn enough to pay their debts and taxes.”

The Congress is weak because they couldn’t stop a small rebellion.

The Articles did not bind the states to the nation very well, according to James Madison, the Articles were no more effective than, “A rope of sand.”

Territories were not big enough, and they should have increased the size of all states to make them equal.

People didn’t trust the way you could vote in congress so they questioned it.

Nobody could’ve stressed the importance of the convention’s secrecy more than George Washington himself. According to History Alive TCI, “...Washington was handed some notes that had been dropped in the hall outside the east room. He lectured the delegates on the importance of secrecy saying, “I know not whose paper it is, but there it is, let him who owns it take it.”

Many of the Northern States were against slavery because of an almost-crazy brand of religion according to my Uncle Dan.

John Hancock, Patrick Henry, and Samuel Adams were cowards and didn’t care about the country because in chapter 8 of the textbook, it tells us that they didn’t attend the meeting and didn’t believe in a strong central government.

In Massachusetts, judges ordered farmers to sell their land and livestock to pay off their debts.

All James Madison does is whine about the bad government.

After declaring Independence in 1667, congress tried to unite the colonies under one national government.

Congress members were scared about creating a strong central government because according to chapter 8 of the textbook “ it would trample the very rights they were fighting to preserve.”

It was hard for the farmers to pay of their debt because they couldn’t change their paper money into gold.

The delegates were bad people, according to TCI History Alive, they were known as the framers.

The New Jersey plan did the same thing almost as the Virginia plan but each state would have an equal vote in congress no matter if the state is big or small, and it was argued it would keep the smaller states from being swallowed up.
