The Green Fox's legs were sore. He had been sitting on a tree branch for several hours waiting for the Sheriff. He believed that the Sheriff would be coming this way to transport some prisoners, one of whom might be the Green Fox's best friend, Lavender Luke. The Green Fox heard the sound of hooves approaching. 

 I wish they got along, but wishes don't amount to much in the real world. Goals do, however. And I have several goals. For one, I want to go to college. For two, I want to get scholarships for college. And for three, I want to excel at something for which scholarships are offered. 

Derrick could no longer contain his curiosity. He took the mystery box off the table and shook it next to his ear. The sound revealed nothing to him. The desire to know was burning up his insides. I felt the momentum in my body slow as the helicopter stopped moving. We hovered in the air for a moment. I looked down. We were hovering over a landing pad. The pilot gradually brought the helicopter to a gentle landing. Andy and I prayed that the helicopter wouldn't suddenly explode. The pilot tried to assure us that it wouldn't, but Andy and I refused to discount the possibility until after we had safely landed.

John's neighbor is angry because John plays loud music every day. John is frustrated at his neighbor because his neighbor complains too much. They talked about it and came to a compromise--John will still play his loud music every day, but will only play for 1 hour instead of 2.

“I don’t want to put my shoes on,” cried Timmy. Timmy had been fussy ever since snack time. He didn’t get a cheese stick because Michael ate the last one. Then he didn’t get to sleep at all during nap time. Now he was really worked up. “I want to go home. Get my mommy!”
