The hill model - big objects on a hill have more potential energy than little objects, but they have the same "potential" because they are at the same height. So if you had two charges with the same Volts (electrical potential) the one with more charge would have more energy and the one with less charge would have less energy.


The water pressure model - electrons are flowing like water, and a battery is like a water tower; a lot of volts means putting a lot of pressure on the current to flow.


The grocery store model - Volts are like the price PER pound of meat. If you buy a lot of meat, you pay a lot (lots of energy). If you buy a little meat you pay a little (little energy) - but the price per pound (volts) is always the same.
