They aren't important, really, just busy work.
They are additional assignments to pad the points I can earn in this class.
They ensure I am on time for class, and keep paying attention all period.
They give me a chance to process what I'm learning, and give the teacher feedback on what I understand or don't understand yet.

If it is unexcused, I have to write down WHEN I arrived and WHY I was late and send this information in an email to Mrs. Wright. (She documents the incident regardless)
No consequences, Mrs. Wright just tells me I'm late and to be on time next time.
Once I've accumulated three unexcused tardies to class, Mrs. Wright contacts my parent or guardian / tries to resolve this issue either with my cooperation, or without it.
On my 4th (or more) subsequent unexcused tardy, I will be blue slipped (office referral).
