Crocodiles
Crocodiles, and their relatives, the alligators, are the largest of the living reptiles. They live in swamps and rivers in warm parts of the world.
Crocodiles have heavy bodies covered with bony scales. Their tails are long and powerful, and they wave them from side to side when swimming. Their jaws have sharp teeth.
Crocodiles hunt fish, turtles, birds and water mammals. They usually attack from under the water. Sometimes crocodiles eat land mammals.
