It is the center director's responsibility to explain and enforce limits

A copy of the limits should be posted on the bulletin board in the teacher's lounge AND in the classroom.

All limits should have a useful function.

Limits need to be reexamined on a regular basis by the entire staff.

When a limit no longer fits the group's needs, it should be discarded.

Unacceptable behavior should be stopped firmly and quickly.

Limits need to be inflexible.

Depending on the material being used for sensory play, limits may change somewhat.

Children must wash their hands before participating in a cooking activity.

Limits in the art area are usually minimal.

Teachers need to demonstrate some of the limits in the science area.
