One day, Mama Bear made a rice soap with chicken and put three plates on the table.

When it was noon, the bears sat down to eat.

They were very, very hungry.

Papa Bear tried the soup first and said, “Ay! The soap is very hot!”

Papá Oso (probó[P], probaba[I]) la sopa primero y (dijo[P], decía[i]) -¡Ay! ¡La sopa está muy caliente!-

Then, the Baby Bear and Mother Bear wanted to eat the soap but they were not able ...

Entonces Bebé Oso y Mamá Osa (quisieron , querían) comer la sopa pero no (pudieron, podían) ...

...because it was too hot, Papa Bear’s soup.

...porque (estuvo, estaba) tan caliente como la sopa de Papá Oso.

The three bears decided to take a walk while the soap cooled down.

Los tres osos (decidieron , decidían) dar un paseo mientras (se enfrió, se enfriaba) la sopa.

It was a beautiful summer day and it was sunny.

(Fue , Era) un día bonito del verano y (hizo, hacía) sol.

The bears were enjoying themselves when a lost girl arrived at the house.

Los osos (se divirtieron, se divertían) cuando una niña perdida (llegó, llegaba) a la casa.

She was named Goldilocks and she was a curious girl.

(Se llamó, Se llamaba) Ricitos de Oro y (fue, era) una chica curiosa

She always played close to her house, but that day she got lost in the forest.

Ella siempre (jugó, jugaba) cerca de su casa pero ese día (se perdió, se perdía) en el bosque.

Goldilocks approached a house and looked in the window,...

Ricitos de Oro (se acercó, se acercaba) a la casa y (miró, miraba) por la ventana...

...but no one was inside.

...pero no (hubo, había) nadie en el interior.

Then, she opened the door and entered the house.

Entonces (abrió, abría) la puerta y (entró, entraba) en la casa.

Goldilocks was happy when she saw the three plates of soap.

Ricitos (se alegró, se alegraba) cuando (vio, veía) los tres platos de sopa.

Goldilocks ate all the soap from the small plate because it was perfect – not too hot neither cold.

Ricitos (se comió, se comía) toda la sopa del plato pequeño porque (estuvo, estaba) perfecta - ni demasiado caliente ni fría.

(Hubo, Había) también en la casa tres sillas: una grande, una mediana, y otra pequeñita. Ricitos de Oro (se sentó, se sentaba) en la silla de Papá Oso, la de Mamá Osa, y por fin la de Bebé Oso.

There were also in the house three chairs: a big one, a medium one, and another small one. Goldilocks sat in the seats of Papa Bear, the one of Mama Bear, and finally the one of Baby Bear.

She liked the comfortable chair of Baby Bear, but the chair was very small for her.

Le (gustó, gustaba) más la silla cómoda de Bebé Oso pero la silla (fue, era) muy pequeña para ella.

De repente se le (rompió, rompía) la silla y (se cayó, se caía) al suelo.

Suddenly, the chair broke and she fell to the floor.

She was very tired and wanted to sleep.

Ella (estuvo, estaba) muy cansada y (tuvo, tenía) ganas de dormir.

The girl laid down in the beds of Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear.

La muchacha (se acostó, se acostaba) en las camas de Papá Oso, de Mamá Osa, y de Bebé Oso.

Baby Bear's bed was so comfortable that she slept immediately.

La cama de Bebé Oso (fue, era) tan cómoda que ella (se durmió , se dormía) en seguida.

A little after, the bears returned from the forest disposed to eat the soup.

Poco después, los osos (volvieron, volvían) del bosque dispuestos a comer la sopa.

From the moment of seeing the open door, the empty plate, and the broken chair, they knew somone had been in their house.

En el momento de ver la puerta abierta, el plato vacío, y la silla rota, ellos (supieron, sabían) que alguien (estuvo, estaba) en su casa.

No one knew what to think. Then the bears went to the bedroom.

Nadie (supo, sabía ) qué pensar. Entonces los osos (fueron, iban) a la alcoba.

What a surprise they had there! In the bed of Baby Bear there was a girl!

¡Qué sorpresa (tuvieron, tenían) allí! En la cama de Bebé Oso (hubo, había) una chica!

But, when Goldilocks heard the voices of the bears, ...

Pero cuando Ricitos de Oro (oyó, oía) las voces de los osos...

...she woke up afraid and ran from the house.

...ella (se despertó, se despertaba) asustada y (corrió, corría) de la casa.

She found the path and very quickly arrived at her house. What an adventure!

Ella (encontró, encontraba) la senda y muy pronto (llegó, llegaba) a su casa. ¡Qué aventura!
