First and foremost, teachers must keep in mind what is best for the community. The source, New York School Bus Strike: Sign of National Pressure on Unions, explains that the members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181, many of which drove school buses, began to strike. Once they began striking many students had to find alternative ways to get to school. This was very time consuming and many parents were infuriated, since their work schedules had been disrupted. Keep in mind that this was all because of bus driver strikes. If a group of teachers strike, the effects would be catastrophic.​

The reason why teachers should not be able to go on strike is because they are public sector workers and they get paid a high salary. In the passage “Why Is It Rare For Public Sector Workers To Go On Strike?”, it directly states,”these workers have high salaries, plum working conditions, and generous benefits”. ​

Teachers and other public sectors solve there problems with mediation or arbitration. According the the text Why Is It Rare for Public Sectors Workers to Go on Strike? “ Meditation takes place when an impartial party oversees the negotiation to resolve differences” This shows that their are other options when you disagree with others.
