When you first are given your scene, it is NOT important to read it to yourself and research any words you don't understand.

Reading the scene aloud a few times can help you perfect your enunciation.

To gain understanding of the scene, you need to figure out what exactly is happening in it, and delve into the intentions, reasons, and objectives of the scene.

In order to internalize the dialogue, you must NOT relate to the scene and draw upon your own experiences. Do NOT figure out whether you have been through anything in the scene or whether you have an acquaintance or family member who has been through it.

The Key to memorization is to not try memorizing the entire scene all at once. Instead, try to memorize it in pieces.

Once you have memorized everything, you do NOT call one of your friends to help you practice the scene. It is not important that the friend or relative be an actor as well.
